メサイア コーラル ソサイェティはヘンデル作曲オラトリオ メサイアの素晴らしさを伝える団体です。私は20歳のとき初めてメサイアを聞きました。その感動は50年経った今日もなお息づいています。

　20代に英国留学中に、さらに関心を深めました。還暦を過ぎてやり残した課題として、再度メサイアに取り組み始めました。 2008年のサントリーホールでのメサイアを機に、よりレベルの高い演奏を目指すとともに、メサイアの魅力を語って参りました。アマチュア合唱団とともに、プロメンバーの協力もいただき演奏活動を続けております。

　またメサイア コーラル ソサイェティとしてメサイア研究を進め、さらに広くこの演奏の喜びを伝えていきたいと願っています。お問い合わせくだされば新しい情報をお送りいたします。

MCS Messiah Choral Society was established in 2008 by conductor Reverend Akira Oda to share the joy of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio, Messiah, not only through singing but by studying and learning the historical background of the piece. Members, including both amateur and professional singers, meet regularly to study and practice for an annual concert which has recently become a charity, supporting areas affected by earthquakes in Japan. Past concerts have been recorded and published as CDs and DVDs. Reverend Oda himself published a booklet entitled, The Wonder of “Messiah” (in Japanese, Kiseki No Oratorio) in 2018.
